Autumn’s spring. An autumn full of spring.

Barbara Hansen’s novel “Autumn’s spring” was literally published just in time for the 20th anniversary of our trust Hand in Hand für Kenia e.V. An Autumn Full of Spring – a wonderful novel that takes the readers into the everyday life of a children’s home in Kenya and the cultural, social and, not least, very personal challenges of a young woman who wants to adopt two children. A story that addresses the real-life difficulties with a great deal of appreciation and humor, combining her own experiences with fiction in an exciting way.

Currently, the novel is available only in German.

Barbara Hansen and her husband Jürgen founded the Hand in Hand für Kenia e.V. trust with six fellow campaigners in 2005. They brought to life the Wajibu Wetu children’s home and supported it until it became independent in 2014. In 2015, the trust launched the Maisha Mazuri Children Home together with the Kenyan organization Youth Support Kenya and in 2019 the Academy of Maisha Mazuri. Although Barbara handed over the chairmanship of the trust to a successor trio in 2016, she continues to devote all her energy and interest to the issues of the trust and its projects.Content
